There aren't a lot of people in our country on Bush's side right now, and the long tours of duty and the fake war are the reasons. Good luck to your brother, I'm sure he'll be fine. My roommate, one of my best friends, is leaving December 1st for a 10-24 month stint. He's a Marine. I tend to believe he'll be there the full 24, because he's a crack shot and a fully trained EMT/Corpsman. All we can do is hope they make it back safe...and write a million letters. And impeach Bush.

I disagree with you AndrewK, if your roommate agreed with you he wouldn't have signed up. Everyone on this site is proud of people like shy girl and her cousin, as well as your roommate. You need to realize that without people like shygirl, and your roommate, your ass and mine would be sitting here in a communist fucking society. Thank god there are people in the world willing to lay down their fucking lives to save our sorry asses. Eyecandy you are mad at shygirl because she has her own opinion without someone else telling her she is right. Nagle - Read Shygirl's blog a bit closer. She's not getting paid, her medical benefits have been cut in half, she's been home all of a month after a two-year stint in Iraq and she's going back on a tour again. If you read the news, or knew any people in the military, you'd know this. You'd also know that our government has been cutting benefits to both veterans and troops during the war. You'd also know it's a war that did not have to be fought. The intelligence was cooked. You read about the Valerie Plame scandal? Do you realize what it means? No, not that somebody leaked a CIA agent's name - which is TREASON enough - but the reason they did it was to discredit her husband, who knew they were using false intelligence to start a war. You're wrong in thinking I'm not proud of my friends and my family and Shygirl too. Saying that if I don't agree with Bush or the war means I don't support our troops, to make me look bad? That's fascist drivel. Am I supposed to keep my mouth shut as our countrymen are disenfranchised? Am I supposed to support a man who has been doing nothing but harming our troops here at home while they're off fighting and dying in the Middle East? Or should first amendment rights be squelched in time of war?

He's Kathy's son...my dad's girlfriend, but I call her my step-mom even though they aren't legally married, but they might as well be. I am trying to remember if he was at my open house...I don't think he was though.
